Community Calendar in Process
As per our community calendaring process, we now have a draft of the 2020-21 ES community calendar posted in hard copy in the ES Conference Room. Everyone who is in charge of an event should come to the conference room and pencil in their preferred dates. This includes, but is not limited to, performances, sleepovers, celebrations, on-campus events like science fairs, and other items that have been calendared in the past. As usual, thanks for your flexibility in the collaborative calendaring process.

Running Track Rail
In preparation for the SAISA Track & Field meet in two weeks, there will be an aluminum rail in place between the track and the soccer field. Please be careful and help others remember that it is there in order to prevent accidentally tripping on it. Thank you.

From the EAL Department: EAL Strategy Talk, #2!
Our next EAL Strategy Talk focuses on Intentional Grouping. We will closely examine the variety of ways we can have students work together. Whether your focus is in heterogeneous or homogeneous grouping, they'll be something for you!
When: Tuesday, 11 February 2020, 7:30-8:15am
Where: SHED
As a reminder, these EAL Strategy Talks are optional to attend, but to make it a bit enticing... we offer breakfast and child care for those who need it. I hope to see you there!

Coaching Collaborative:  Coaching Survey
The Coaching Collaborative is working to improve the Coaching Program at AISC.  This survey is anonymous and will be open from Friday, January 31 until Wednesday, February 12, 2020. A summary of the results will be shared on the Raptor Way Blog and inform what you may see coaches doing in the future.   Survey LINK HERE

FYI
Documentary Screening of Batman and Bill
On Tuesday, February 18th at 3:45 pm, we will be presenting the documentary, "Batman and Bill," which is based on our visiting author's book, "Bill the Boy Wonder." This documentary tells the story of Bill Finger, the uncredited creator of Batman. Following the screening, we will have a Q&A with the author, Marc Tyler Nobleman. Teachers, staff, parents, and students from grade three and up are invited to attend, but please note that all students in ES are required to attend with a parent and that parent will be required to stay with the child for the entire time. While the film doesn't contain any objectionable content, parents should know that the run time is over 90 minutes and the intended audience is not young children.

Grades 3-5 WRAP Testing
WRAP testing will begin on Monday, February 24th and end on February 27th. More information about the upcoming WRAP testing will be shared directly with Grade 3-5 teachers.

And the Twitter Award goes to …. @FernaLatorre

Have a great weekend!

Keryn, Dave, and Calley
