  • Megha, for the positive mantras and wonderful positivity
  • Joseph for unwavering determination to blast on with the beautification of our campus
  • Jack for rescheduling the intramural soccer tournament and being undeterred by weather
  • Hilary, Rachael, Dan and Alex for all the help and support proof reading reports
  • Everyone (so many of you) who was in the theatre tonight supporting MCT
  • Preethika, Uma, Adithya, Esther, Nichelle and Sai for taking on teaching the English WL classes
  • Tiffany for being such a star report card checker!

Sign up for Secret Santa!  Over 40 people took part last year - a fun way to celebrate the end of 2017 together and recognise the amazing things our faculty does every day :) Details on the link!

Thank you so much for all the hard work you have put into our students and implementing inquiry-based approaches. The sample reflections that we used are from: Take a Moment: 40 frameworks for reflective thinking, by Kath Murdoch. Take a look at Fer and Ula's padlet featuring the grade 2 cooking class. They were inspired by the demonstration at Wednesday's faculty meeting.

Use of the ES Kitchen
The ES kitchen provides wonderful opportunities for cooking or baking. Please use the “ES Kitchen” calendar to reserve your times in that space. Also, please ensure that you (your students!) have thoroughly cleaned up the space before your group leaves so that it is ready for the next group.

Teach for India tour
Just a heads up that a small number of Teach for India fellows will be visiting campus during the later part of next Wednesday morning. They are coming to get a glimpse into our school and pedagogies. No need to do anything different than usual, but you might see some visitors in your rooms. They will be accompanied.

Design Studio Update - Amazing opportunity! (repeat announcement)
Starting on Nov. 17th Carl will be opening up his room for Genius sessions. You can send one, a couple or a small group of kids who you feel would benefit from 1 hour blocks in the Discovery Studios on Friday afternoons.

You can book this time on Carl’s calendar or send him a direct message!

Edmodo reminder (repeat announcement)
A gentle reminder that before/as each new unit begins a grade or department level unit overview should be shared on Edmodo.  This is for all areas, including specialists.

Meet AISC - Preethi Isaac, Elementary Teaching Assistant
As well as being a self proclaimed poet, Preethi is proud of being able to encourage and help someone on their path to achieve what they set out to do. Her teachers ‘could not do their jobs if it wasn’t for Preethi’s amazing support every day”.  Preethi comes from a wonderful family who taught her that life is full of tiny miracles. She is an Engineer by qualification, but decided to give in to her desires of becoming an educator. She takes pride when she often allow is allowed to be part of a child's "Eureka" moment, and she is also a fierce lip syncer who displays rockstar fantasies while pretending to sing!

Arrival of baby Abigail!
Congratulations to new mother, Mona, who has a beautiful new baby daughter named Abigail Zemira.

Just for fun
Ask Amritha about this gummy bear….

Ask Ron about this cupcake….

Happy weekend everyone!

Warmly,

Keryn & Lori
