Lunch/Recess Supervision

The updated supervision schedule will be posted in the covered area for next week. The bell should be rung at 12:48 p.m. letting G3-G5 students know that recess is over and to transition to lunch. For those lower elementary students who are finished with their lunch they can be dismissed from lunch starting at 12:43 p.m. Also, a few duties have shifted so please double check the supervision schedule before Monday and reach out to Dave if you have any questions.

Virtual Students

HRTs and TAs, please let the specialists know which students are virtual each day with as much advance notice as possible.

Public Service Announcement: Laptops are not thirsty! (from Greg)

We've witnessed a trend since the beginning of the new semester: laptops with water in them. We are getting two or three each week. No matter what Siri tells you, your laptop is not thirsty. Do not attempt to give it anything to drink!

I speak from personal experience, and if you're one of the unlucky souls to have done this, I empathize fully. Not fun.

I urge you all to become paranoid about where you place your water or coffee. It will save you heartache, I promise! Accidents happen, of course, and we're here to help. Vignesh is a wizard, and is becoming very practiced at rectifying water damage. You are providing him some very expensive professional development.

In case you do happen to spill water on your laptop, unplug it immediately, shut it down, close it and carry it upside down directly to the IT office. If you continue to use the machine, the water will short out components and may permanently kill it.

And from Lynn:

Please remind students that one part of responsible use with technology is not touching anyone else’s device. Two students learned that lesson the hard way this week. It’s worth mentioning again.

From the Counselors

The counselors would like to thank all of you for your support and kind thoughts during International School Counseling week. We felt incredibly appreciated by you!  We are grateful for our colleagues and students and look forward to working with you all each and every day.
