Invitation for Participation - The Portal Project

The Portal Project is officially launched! What is the Portal Project? It is a combination of global conversations featuring international experts and AISC practitioners and internal AISC conversations to explore similar themes within the context of our school.

September addresses the question "What is sacred?"

  • The first global conversation - Nurturing Adult Learning: A Sacred Piece of Schooling - will take place at 6:00 pm IST on September 9th. You can learn more about the global conversations here or by watching the trailer and you can register for the session through eventbrite

  • A few weeks after this global session, on September 23rd at 4:30 pm, you are invited to join a facilitated conversation to explore what AISC community members identify as sacred pieces of schooling worthy of consideration to carry with us "through the portal." Join here (passcode = OTL).

Upcoming questions include:

October - What is learning?

November - Are we literate?

February - Who is unheard?

March into April - Are we well?

IMPORTANT: Submitting Yearbook Portraits

  • Please read the instructions carefully.

  • Use the back camera of a mobile phone to take your photo. You can have someone take the photo for you or you can use a tripod. You can find detailed instructions on the website.

Thank you for your support, AISC! Please write to media@aischennai.org if you have any questions.

 Spirit Week

Please post this banner your virtual classroom and let students know it starts September 13th.

Seesaw Tip

You can “pin” an activity so it always stays at the top of a student’s activity feed. Look for the 3 dots in the lower right corner of the activity you want to pin. Select “pin to top.” The activity will remain at the top of the students’ feed until you unpin it. This may be helpful if you have a recurring assignment for students or want passwords or logins to be easily accessible. Thanks for the tip Fletch. Feel free to reach out to him if you’d like to know more about pinning Seesaw activities.

Wellbeing Blog

Each week we will now include the Wellbeing Blog link. Here it is.

From the Counselors

Looking for some check in slides to see how students are doing?  How about a feelings chart?  Take a deep breath together!

Remember, amazing teachers, take care of yourself. Here is a teacher self-care calendar for September and a 13 minute mindfulness meditation.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Lynn and Dave
