Join the ES Counselors and ES leadership team to learn a few simple strategies to be your best self each day. You can take care of your own personal and professional needs and be present with your child by taking a few simple actions. Join us on Tuesday to talk with other community members and share experiences.
Field Day - February 24
Thank you to Jack, Sobha, and Balaji for planning and presenting about field day at the faculty meeting. A question came up about lightening the student workload on field day to alleviate screen time and allow for students to be able to fully participate in all of the activities. Yes, you may adjust the workload as needed.
Specialist Morning Meeting Rotation
Here is the new morning meeting specialist rotation starting February 15th. Please reach out to Dave if you have any questions about the schedule.
Spirit Week
MS planned the February Spirit Week. Below are some ideas to use with your class.
Monday - Compassion: Random acts of kindness
Examples include:
make a snack for a family member
make a thank you card or drawing for a friend or family member
help complete a chore/task at home
Tuesday - AISC Spirit: wear an AISC shirt, school colors or Zoom background with Raptor pride!
Wednesday - Courage & Confidence Day (and Field Day) - Share a quote or story/read a quote or story that inspires or demonstrates courage or confidence
Thursday - Compassion: Be kind to the environment
Examples include:
Don’t buy one time use plastic items
Reduce, Reuse and Recycle
Throw your trash in bins.
See litter on the floor? Pick it up!
Friday Creative Friday - show your own creativity: fun hair, DIY mask, creative clothing

Happy Valentine’s Day to all AISC educators!….Thank you for helping students find the new normal and being the calm we all need.
New Library Books (repeat announcement with updated links)
The links to our new book collections have been updated, so everyone should be able to browse each one. I have also added them to the front page of the library catalog for easy access. Staff members can request any of these titles from the library using this form. Happy reading!
Photos Needed for the Yearbook (repeat announcement)
Have you taken about a zillion Zoom screen shots this year? The yearbook crew would love to see them. Please upload any screenshots you have of your classes - homeroom and specialists included. You can rename your photo to represent what’s happening (ie: readaloud.jpg or kitemaking.jpg). There are grade level folders and then subject area folders in this Yearbook folder. Please upload as many photos as you’d like ASAP (this was due Feb. 12th).
And we’ll end the week with some picture book humor...
