Dear Faculty,

Delegates of the ECIS Library conference have already commented how amazing our ES section looks. Take a chance to wander some spaces you don’t regularly visit - you will be as impressed as our visitors are! Thank you everyone.

For those attending the conference this weekend, enjoy. For those presenting, we wish you well! Everyone else, happy long weekend.

Baby boy Connelly
He arrived early Sunday morning; Calley, Ross, Rowan and Juni are thrilled to welcome Bryn Corbett to the family. Congratulations!

An Ode to Our Teachers (from a responsive classroom sub!)
Last week, I taught fourth grade.
The memories will never fade.
I couldn’t believe
each day when I’d leave
The mess of the classroom we made.

The students kept it real.
I wasn’t sure how to feel.
Did they not know
How much they would grow
With Rachael behind the wheel?

I am woke.
It isn’t a joke.
I’m in awe of our folk.
Our staff that teach
It’s no day at the beach
And so, to each--

You are remarkable.

Thank you’s…
  • Hilary for presenting at the ECIS library conference this weekend.
  • Jet, together with Kirsten, for all the hard work put into organising this spectacular event.
  • Kay (from Donna) for managing the Meet Manager and Colorado Timing System at the Raptor's Swim Club Time Trials on Saturday. Your help is always so appreciated.
  • From Ross: I would like to thank all the folks have offered to bring meals and/or spend time with Rowan and Juni during this exciting (and exhausting) time in our lives. Thanks additionally to the 4th grade team for being fantastic. Last but not least, thanks to Fiona for keeping things afloat in my absence.
  • Daphne and Natalia for their spontaneous expertise in helping 3TF for the class' first kitchen experience.
  • Carl (from Rachael) for compiling a list of loose parts for the upcoming play strand field trip.
  • Joseph, Priya, Clinton and Ken for the outstanding EY-Grade 2 Art Exhibition in the atrium (which will remain up for viewing until the 23rd).
  • Jack for inaugurating the students vs faculty soccer match today
  • Jane, Lori, Jack, Elliot, Vanessa, Keeley & Marcus for their fine display of sportsmanship and superb soccer prowess (2-0 to the teachers)
  • Salome, Ron, Linda, Julia, and Janna for being part of the cheer squad to watch teachers vs students
Faculty vs Students Soccer Game
Today, Jack, inaugurated our first Faculty vs Students Soccer game. This was open to students in Grade 4 and 5, and was a lot of fun. Final score was 2-0 to the seven teachers who bravely played an outstanding game against four different student teams, who each played one quarter.
Congratulations to Lori, Jack, Elliot, Jane, Vanessa, Keeley and Marcus! And Salome, Linda, Ron, Julia and Janna for cheering along!
