Dear all,

As the weather remains hot, remember the importance of self care. Stay hydrated, and remind your students to drink water often too!

Thank yous (have someone to thank - let Lori or Keryn know!)
  • All TAs who have provided cover this week for Karen and Alex who were away
  • To 4th grade for hosting a fabulous learning celebration this morning, and in particular the students of 4MG, 4RC, 4JN, 4JH, 3TF, 3SS and 3JM (along with Sarah, Finny, Barbara, Ron and Jack) for presenting.

Personnel Change
As you know Vanessa Lopez has taken on the homeroom position to replace Marianne Brooks, who left on Thursday. We are advertising for a new co-teacher. Until we can recruit a suitable replacement, Karen has kindly agreed to work full time as an EAL teacher, continuing her world language English lessons as well as offering 60% of her weekly time to the Grade 5 triad of 5BT and 5JD.

News for you from 3612
As we start to settle into managing our work flow for the year, this might be a good time to revisit the personality preferences for those we work closely with. Take a look at AISC ES Preference Types Grid to find those people you collaborate with. At the bottom, we've linked some websites to read up on each type and understand them more deeply.

Readers and Writers Workshop PD
In lieu of having a literacy consultant at AISC this year, a variety of homegrown professional development sessions are being planned and will be scheduled to support your needs, passions and literacy goals.  Some sessions will be by invitation, and some by sign up/interest. Look soon for an invitation or sign up opportunity coming your way!

Indian Month Teachers Dance
Not too late to add your name to this sign up and join in the teachers dance fun!

MAP Make ups
We’ve had some internet connectivity challenges so we had to suspend testing for the week. The result of that is that the make up schedule will not be available until early next week. The testing location, times and list of students will be sent directly to impacted teachers by Tuesday.

Spirit Week
Next week is Spirit week! This will be a combined school event for all AISC students in Elementary, Middle and High School.

Monday 18: Pyjama day
Tuesday 19: Formal day
Wednesday 20: Multiple day
Thursday 21: One-color day
Friday 22: UN day (national dress)

UN Day Parade
Information about roles/duties has been sent from Todd via an email from Angeline. Please make sure you understand your assignment for the event.
