Next Tuesday 20 November, from 8:45-9:45 in the Madras Hall we will host a parent coffee on understanding our elementary report cards as well as MAP testing and results. The session will assist parents in understanding how our academic reports look and function at AISC. Sherriden Masters, Director of Technologies and Innovation, will join me to explain the new ES report card format, as well as MAP score feedback from the latest assessment.

Mystery Science Resource
Hilary wanted to remind you about the Mystery Science resource for elementary teachers. It has improved significantly over the years. It is full of videos, mini-lessons, engaging questions, and activities. Brayden and I use it as a resource for answering some of the questions he asks. If you haven't already taken advantage of their 1-year free subscription, you can sign up for it now. http://mysteryscience.com
Thank you first grade for the reminder.

School-Wide Expectations
In following up on our work on school-wide behaviours and community expectations, we will soon be posting up our overall expectations (Be Safe, Be Responsible, Be Respectful) throughout the elementary section. We would also like you to take some time during your morning meetings to review our school-wide expectations with your students. You might consider talking  about one particular area (e.g., cafeteria, hallways) and then talk about another area during a different meeting so every student clearly understands the expectations for each area. The matrix is intended for adults so please consider how you want to share the school-wide expectations for each area with your students.
Ordering 2019-20
As per Mouli’s email, we will follow the usual procedures for ordering and your due date for orders to Keryn is next Friday, Nov 9.  Remember that you will not personally order your Bridges resources, but you will add them to the Bridges Order spreadsheet, and Calley will order for your team. Please read the directions carefully - the procedure covers ordering both Bridges and other resources -  and let Calley know if you have any questions or concerns. In particular, if you are having trouble finding something, please just shoot Calley an email and let her help you sort through the options to find the math resources that you need.
Staffing Information
From next Wednesday 7 November, Tara will be taking over the role of homeroom teacher in 3TF (3TG!), and until Tiffany goes out on maternity leave she will be covering the EAL co-teaching across the two classes. In addition, Radha will be continuing her EAL co-teaching in 1KC/1MB as Seema will be extending her leave until closer to the winter break.

Missoula Children’s Theatre
We have approx 140 G1-5 children sign up for the Missoula Treasure Island Cast.  Please talk to your class sometime next week before the auditions on Monday 12th to prepare them for disappointment, and graceful congratulations to friends, should they not be chosen for a role.

Have a wonderful l o n g weekend!

Warmly,
Keryn, Dave, and Calley
