Technology

If you need any technical assistance, please put in a ticket with IT. If your need is immediate, IT can send someone to assist you right away, but please put in a ticket afterwards as the IT office is gathering data on areas and types of support as well as where ongoing support is needed. Health Office

If a student is feeling sick and it seems like it is COVID-related (i.e., fever, cough, sore throat, body aches) please call the health office and a nurse will come to your classroom. With all other health issues such as cuts, scrapes, bruises, etc., students can be sent right to the health office.

Semester 2 Lunch Time

Second semester is well underway and we have made it through almost a full week with the on campus schedule. As a reminder, there is a 5 minute transition time that was built in between the KG-G2 and G3-G5 lunches. Lunch for KG-G2 begins at 12:25 p.m. At 12:43 p.m., KG-G2  students can start being dismissed from lunch. For those students still needing time to finish, they have until 12:48 p.m. to finish. The bell will ring at 12:48 p.m. letting G3-G5 students know that recess is over and to transition to lunch. For those KG-G2 students who were dismissed at 12:43 p.m. they should ignore this bell and continue playing until 1:08 p.m. when the bell rings again letting all students know to transition back to class.

Registration is now open for Days 5 - 8 of Cognitive Coaching. Days 5 - 8 further refine skills introduced in Days 1 - 4 while introducing the problem resolving map as means to support individuals in getting "unstuck."

To minimize the impact on classroom teachers, the days will be spread over two months - Friday and Saturday, March 25/26 and Friday and Saturday, April 8/9.  All four days must be attended (8:30 am - 4:00 pm) and a certificate is awarded upon completion.

If you are interested and have attended sessions 1-4 at any time or at any school, please complete this survey no later than MONDAY, FEBRUARY 14th. Supervisors will consider requests for participation upon close of the survey and selections will be confirmed no later than Thursday, February 17th.

An opportunity that may be of interest to U.S. Citizens

AISC has been contacted by Thun Financial to announce an upcoming Expat Virtual Financial Summit for U.S. Expats. David Kuenzi, Director of International Wealth Management, will be offering a session for financial planning for U.S. citizens abroad. We cannot vouch for the quality of the webinar, not the legitimacy of the company, but are making you aware of the opportunity should it be of interest. The webinar will take place on Tuesday, February 8th, at 7:30 pm IST. You can learn more here

From the Counselors

As students settle into their routines on campus, you may have had opportunities to gather additional baseline assessment data on your students in reading, writing, social skills and/or behavior. If you observe trends in a student related to their performance in any core subject areas that are concerning, this may be a time to reach out to the counselor to initiate a Student Discussion Meeting (SDM). In that meeting, your Grade level counselor can assist you with targeting and documenting interventions to address lagging skills in academic or behavioral domains. Using the SDM to discuss strategies and short-term interventions is the first place to start with students who are not making expected progress in your classroom. Please contact Linda for EY- Grade 4 or Michele for Grade 5 to discuss the process or initiate a Student Discussion Meeting.
