Some of the clubs included jump roping, board games, basketball, origami, Lego, etc… If teachers need to fulfill their “one thing” this year, this is an opportunity for you. This is optional for any other teachers.

We are also starting up the Student Council again for 4th and 5th grade students. Linda and Fer are the faculty sponsors. They will be talking to the 4th and 5th graders soon.

Desk Arrangements in Classrooms

Tired of the rows of desks in your classroom? Feel free to rearrange the student desks in your room while also being mindful of distancing.

From the Counselors

It is so great to see children playing during recess.Despite being away from the AISC playground for nearly 2 years, here are some of  the things we see developing socially and emotionally in students:

  • Learning empathy by slowing down to let a classmate catch up and join a game.

  • Creating games, listening to one another, asking questions, and following rules for the game.

  • Developing patience by taking turns.

  • Understanding one another through social cues despite the masks.

  • Building confidence climbing on or swinging from playground equipment. Day by day they overcome fears and master new skills like going the entire length of the monkey bars.

  • Developing skills like humor and spontaneity.

  • Expanding feeling vocabulary –  they have many words to describe how they feel.

  • Negotiating and compromising during games.

  • Playing together as a part of a team of kids who work together in a game.

  • Observing others play and learning how games work - stimulating creativity and imaginations.

  • Becoming more independent - following routines and taking care of their belongings.

  • Leadership skills arising - explaining rules of the game, organizing groups, or developing new parts to the games.

  • Getting to know one another and respecting differences.

  • Spending time in nature.

So many good things are happening.  Each child is moving at his/her own pace and in their own time. We are excited to support and encourage the social and emotional development of all of our students.

MUN Impact HS Group

Please talk about the recycling of tetra paks with your class. These tetra paks are recycled and turned into furniture for government schools. There is a collection bin set up at the Elementary Gate.

Field Days are coming soon!

Have a great weekend.
