Working from Campus

If you choose to work from campus, remember that there is no refrigerator or microwave available and no food is being served on campus. No outside food orders are allowed either. Please plan to bring your own food. Coffee and tea are available in the Madras Cafe. Please try to have your own mug or return the mug they provide for proper cleaning. Water is also available for everyone (with nifty new touchless dispensers). Keep your door open and your AC and air purifier on all day. Make sure you follow the health and safety guidelines.

Classroom Preparation Days

Please note the asynchronous days for your grade level. You will not have a morning meeting, small groups, or 1:1s on this day. All work will be asynchronous. Please reschedule all 1:1s. Starting January 18th, faculty and staff are invited to request materials from the ES/MS Library via Google forms. The library will remain closed, so please use this online form to request materials and library staff will prioritize gathering materials for delivery. Please let Babs know if you have any questions.

Yearbook Questions - Repeat Announcement

The HS yearbook students would like you to gather some responses from your students about school. This document has the 3 questions and places to record student answers.

Coaches Corner

Jennifer Serravallo continues to know exactly how best to support teachers! Her recent blog post on Engagement in the Online Classroom and book titled, Connecting with Students Online, offers us simple and practical strategies to support our students in the digital world. The blog post offers several instructional graphics and the ability to read one chapter from Serravallo’s new book. It is worth checking out!

From the Counselors

A Mental Vacation Exercise

You are all doing your best to provide AISC students with the best support ever. We want to give you support too, because we know that when you are feeling well, your students feel well. We came across this “vacation” idea from Solution Focused Schools

Given the additional events recently, we wanted to reach out and give you a chance to take a “mental vacation.”

Please read the question below and think of some responses. Have fun! You don’t have to be realistic! Just dream.

Just suppose, sometime today, a miracle happens and the events of our world are not as troublesome to you. It is almost as if you get to step out of the current story and move toward a better story. What would that story look like?  What would you be doing at school as an educator in that story, just for today? How would it help you to do that? What would your students notice? How would it help them?

If you like, you can post your answers anonymously here on jamboard. We will compile them and post them someplace for all of us to see. We will keep it anonymous! We can’t wait to see your answers.

Jan Jamboree

Please advertise this to your students.

Are you looking to have some fun on a Saturday? Well, we have just the thing for you! On January 30th, AISC will be hosting our annual Jan Jamboree. From arts & crafts to trivia, we have prepared a ton of fun activities for you to play with your friends! Sign-ups will open next Monday, January 17th.

Come join us!

From: The High School Student Council

Have a terrific weekend!

Lynn, Dave, and Elliot
