Friday, February 14, 2020

Dear Faculty,

Enjoy your weekend! Lots happening next week with SAISA track and field, an author visit, and an all school music concert. As you will remember from last year, the covered area will be roped off and out of action on Thursday and Friday. Please be mindful in ensuring our ES children stay out of this area. If you want to bring your class out to watch (we have 4 ES Raptors competing this year; Gaspard, Victor, Gio and Minato), please be sure to be in the correct spectator zones.

The parade will be followed by a brief opening ceremony that anyone is welcome to watch. Please cheer on the visiting athletes as well as the Raptors for these events. The parade next week for track will start in the Rec Gym, go past the locker rooms and up the stairs to the middle floor. Then we'll go up a flight at the stairwell by the MS and HS offices, head down the MS language arts hallway and then spiral down to the ground floor and head back to the Unity Courtyard. The parade route and a full event schedule will be shared for the second two events later.

Writing with Muscle Workshop
Don't forget about Marc Tyler Nobleman's workshop for teachers, Writing with Muscle! Hope to see lots of you there on Tuesday, February 18th from 3:35 in the Madras Hall.

Volunteers Needed for Maker Saturday
We need your help!! Maker Carnival is coming soon on Saturday, March 7th from 10-3. We are in need of volunteers to help in any way you can. (Bring your whole family and they can help too!) Take a look at this document to see some ideas. You can choose one off the list or add your own. Please include what time you would like to volunteer (minimum 1 hour) as well as any supplies you need. Remember, you can also explore the other booths and get some lunch while you are here! If you could let us know by Monday, February 17th, we would appreciate it.

Note about Kitchen Usage
The ES kitchen provides wonderful opportunities for cooking or baking. Please ensure that you (your students!) have thoroughly cleaned up the space and put things back where they belong, before your group leaves so that it is ready for the next group.
