Dear all,
Another great week in the elementary. I was able to be out at the end of this week to watch our AISC Raptor swimmers at SAISA in Kathmandu. I also got a chance to work with the ES principal and tour their elementary classrooms. As always, visiting another school gives great perspective and offers the opportunity to see new ideas, as well as share the good work happening in our section. I felt there was so much I could share and that is thanks to all of you!
Thank yous & shout outs!

Faculty Forum
Our next faculty forum on Thursday, October 31st will focus on solution thinking’ to help support teachers during times on our calendar which may feel busier than others. We will come together to learn from one another how different strategies may be implemented to help reduce the feeling of becoming overwhelmed and supporting each other through busy times. This will not be a decision making forum, and it also will not be time to vent about ‘busyness’ but instead focus on strategies of support.

Halloween 2019
The Halloween parade will occur during our last period of the day on Oct 31 starting at 2:45 p.m. The students will parade around the track with parents on the field. Grade levels will follow in order from EY to Grade 5. Four trick or treating stations will be set up on the track. When students have paraded once around the track they will return to their classroom parties. In case of rain, we have a contingency plan in place.

Save the date! You are invited to participate in HS IB Psychology Experiment Event
Date: Monday, October 21st
Time: 3:45-4:45 (or whenever you have had enough)
Location: HS Social Studies/English classrooms (second floor, straight after the HS office, rooms face onto the pool)
For the internal assessment for IB Psychology, students must replicate a peer reviewed, published study with participants over the age of 16. Each group needs at least 20 volunteers. Please join us, and bring some friends, for a Psychology Experiment Event! This shouldn’t take more than 30 minutes of your time and will be a whole lotta fun! You can participate in as many different experiments as you would like to be involved in (there are 3 being run). Each group will be using a classroom as their “lab”; they will conduct the experiment a few different times to ensure enough (and appropriate) data for their experiment.
And the Twitter Award goes to….Babs!
Keryn, Dave and Calley
