Dear All,
Happy long weekend, Happy Tamil New Year, and Happy Easter! Thank you all for your patience and flexibility this week with so many people out with planning, the FRRO and police station visits. Link to Parent Input
If you receive any direct emails from parents (or conversations) regarding class placements, please direct them to this link. The input is not about requesting specific teachers, but a chance for parents to inform us of any ‘special circumstances’ we should be aware of when placing children.
Please consider this link the only way we will consider parent input.
PG&E Sign up
Please see Hazel and Cheryl ASAP to confirm your PG&E appointment. Please remember these need to be completed by May 5th, and reflections on your PG&E form should be with Keryn/Lori at least 2 days before your meeting.
Photos for ES publications
Next Thursday morning Shannon and I will be popping into classes to get photos of children learning for our ES handbook and curriculum guide. Please excuse the interruption; we urgently need updated photos of ES learning! Thank you.
From Calley re Math Overview PDFs on Edmodo
The math overview PDFs. If you would please ask teachers to link them INDIVIDUALLY, so that the heading is "math unit overview” - this might help parents to see/find them in Edmodo. Please remember every KG-5 homeroom teacher needs to be posting these as the unit begins.
Student Led Conferences Thurs 20 & Fri 21
Thank you all for working so hard on this with your students. It is going to be great. Specialists, please make sure the homeroom teachers are aware of where your class will be sharing their learning and that this is reflected on the passport.
HS Theatre Production
High School Theatre will perform their production of The Caucasian Chalk Circle, by Bertolt Brecht, on Thursday, 20 April and Friday, 21 April, at 7pm.
High in the Caucasus Mountains, the tiny nation of Grusinia is plagued by civil war. Fleeing her burning city, Grusha, a serving woman, discovers an abandoned child. In a desperate act of mercy, she takes the baby in search of safe haven from the chaos. The road ahead of her holds many dangers: betrayal, cruelty, and soldiers hunting the child—but even those dangers pale when child’s true mother returns to find him.
Thrilling, funny, and touching, Circle is suitable for audiences from upper elementary and older. Tickets on sale at the main entrance from Monday, 17 April for Rs. 100.
Summer Maintenance
If any ES Specialist team or Grades 2-5 have any specific summer maintenance requests, please fill them in on this form here and we will discuss the request with Ilangovan and his maintenance team. All requests must be in by May 5th.
MAP Testing
Testing concludes this week with math (remember to offer students scrap paper and a pencil, and to mention that they are allowed to use the calculator when the icon pops up) and science (grades 3-5 only). See last week’s links for the schedule and instructions. Make ups will be on the Monday and Tuesday following SLCs.
